Info-Power and ATS Fleet Management Solutions partner to provide a suite of applications that help Motor Carriers in all industry segments meet FMCSA rules Part 395 for Electronic Driver Logs and Hours of Service regulations mandated in 2012. The implementation deadline set by DOT is July 1, 2015.

These new regulations eliminate hand -written HOS logs and will require a driver of a commercial vehicle to produce Electronic Driver Logs at all weigh stations and upon request.

“ATS approached Info-Power in May, 2014 with this challenge” says Michael Coots, Info-Power Product Manager for e-Track™. “The project had three problem areas to solve. First was to construct a complex but flexible processing engine where large data streams from GPS providers, driver inputs from our native Android app, and inputs from a dispatching staff could all come together and filter through DOT rule sets. If any of these streams fails for any length of time, the system must keep working and ‘catch up’ on processing when any outage is repaired. Second, the Drivers interface had to be simple with many of their steps automated or grouped behind a single action. Third, the system must alert designated personnel BEFORE an HOS violation occurs.”

ATS and Info-Power worked with a few motor carriers as beta users to guide usability and perfect the user experience. Joseph Mazzuca, president and founder of ATS who conceptualized the initial design, says “the automation in the e-Track™ systems is what makes it stand out in the crowd. It is truly an innovative product.”
